Importance Of Controlling Your Mind

Author: Sharon Hopkins Since ancient times, the human philosophers have realized the importance of the mind in governing the human affairs. They knew that a person's external circumstances were the result of his internal thoughts. They were aware that if the person thinks of riches, he would have riches, while if the thoughts are of poverty, success and failure would produce the corresponding effects in the person's circumstances. Today, modern science has acknowledged the truth of these findings. Hence, it becomes crucial for a person to control his mind. Yoga has specific techniques which deal with the science of mind control. We will study the nature of the mind as is recognized by yoga in this chapter. Shankaracharya has defined the mind in four different ways as per its functions: manas for the job of resolving and doubting; buddhi for the decision and judgment; asmita for the consciousness of its individual existence and chita for remembering the previous experiences. The Mind is a vast collection of thoughts and traces of past experiences. When you are born, your mind is the collection of samskaras collected over the previous births. Those samskaras, whose fruits have already been enjoyed have been wiped out. But as you grow up, new samskaras are being added continuously due to various acts performed by you from birth to death. This translates into the law of which states that the events one faces in his life are the results of the activities done by him in the past and his mind at birth contains the samskaras from his previous births. Yoga recognizes five factors, basic to the mind of every person. They are called kleshas because they are the forefathers of every human misery. They are: avidya which is the false knowledge or ignorance of one's true self in relation to the objects; asmita or ego feeling since in yoga, body and soul are two different aspects; raga is the liking of pleasurable experience; dvesha or aversion to pain; abhinivesha or fear of death. Yoga understands the human behaviour from the perspective of these five qualities which are assumed to be present in a person since birth and are considered as the impurities of the mind. They make a person unstable and agitated. Hence yoga has given way of dhyana and pranayam to cleanse your mind. Whenever one is beset by a situation that he or she is unsure of – facing someone admired, having to perform in front of an audience, or simply talking to others – he or she is facing a goodly amount of stress.

Confident people are usually able to face these situations without blinking; but the rest of us will probably melt away and try to run away from the situation.

For most people facing this kind of low self-esteem, these situations present an opportunity for them to make fools out of themselves. This is a very embarrassing prospect.

If you are one of the millions of people that would like to stop fidgeting in front of others, trying to squirrel out of such situations, and being so unsure of yourself when facing presentations, here are a few tips to set you on your way.

1. Competence is Confidence - Some organizations, like the Toastmasters, help those afraid to speak in public toughen up by stressing this credo – and it really works. One secret to confidence and self-esteem is to be able to trust what you are able to do. This comes with a lot of practice and study. Whenever you practice a given skill, you increase your own confidence in your capability to perform even in front of other people.

Before a big presentation, study up. Try to know everything about the topic before you step in front of the audience. If you have practiced way before the presentation, you will be in a better position to knock their socks off.

Practicing in front of supportive people you trust will help you get feedback on how to improve your performance.

2. Believe in Yourself - One of the reasons people are not confident in themselves is the fact that they are already convinced that they will fail even before anything happens. Never underestimate the power of the mind. If you believe you will fail, you indeed will! A better exercise would to be to believe that you can succeed. Set your mind towards succeeding and you probably will!

3. Take Criticisms, whether Good or Bad - Most people are bad at taking criticisms. Instead of taking the criticisms personally, use every comment and suggestion to make yourself better. However, you will also have to look out for some criticisms that were never meant to benefit you. Ignore them and move on.

4. Remain Calm at All Costs - Panicking never benefited anybody. If you are suddenly in a situation where you are unsure of what to do or what will happen, keep your composure. If you don’t know the answer, say so calmly. If you do not know what to do, it would not be bad to admit it. However, beneath your cool façade, always try to keep a deliberate, quick thinking, demeanor. This itself could take a lot of practice, but it is well worth it.

5. Don’t be Afraid to Fail - Many people are afraid to fail; they quit trying because they are not confident in their skills. If you are afraid to try, you will get stuck where you are. Failure can only make you better. Remember that every great man took risks and failed a lot before arriving at greatness.

6. Don’t Base Your Confidence on What People Think Of You - While other’s opinion of you can be important, it should not sway you from thinking that you are important. They do not know you better than you do. If you free yourself from the shackles of peer opinion, you will be free to try new things and learn new skills. It does not matter if they think you cannot accomplish anything – take whatever good that can be gleaned from their advice and move on.

Attract Good Fortune

Author: Pat Heydlauff

Much has been written recently about the law of attraction or creating your own good luck. "The Secret" which has been featured everywhere on television and talk radio has brought much attention recently to the thought process of attracting into your life.

Creating good luck through the power of positive energy and attracting good things into your life are the backbone of the Feng Shui lifestyle as well. The thought process of using the law of attraction was recorded many times through history. If you go back to 1950s a very popular book was written by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, "The Power of Positive Thinking" an earlier version of the law of attraction. Then there is the late 1930s book "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill that gave us the positive thought process of creating wealth and success based on Andrew Carnegie’s formula.

If you want to go back even further to consider the law of attraction and the use of positive energy to create a better life look at Feng Shui. It was being used by the Ancient Chinese over 3000 years ago to create a better life, longevity, abundance and good fortune. Every Feng Shui philosophy being practiced today addresses the issue of using positive energy to attract fame and good fortune or good luck. Whether reading one of the older books, watching The Secret or using Feng Shui, each one of these teachings will give you an action plan on how to achieve a better life, personal good fortune and attract positive things to you.

Action Plan - Step 1

In order to allow new positive energy into your life through the law of attraction to achieve good fortune or whatever you seek, you need to unclutter your surroundings and your thinking first so the new things and thoughts can enter. If your thinking and your surroundings up until now have prevented you from receiving what you want and deserve, it is time to change. Get rid of negative thoughts and things and replace them with positive supportive energy. Use the following to make room for the positive new to enter:

• Remove thoughts and words from your vocabulary like, I can’t, I don’t deserve it, good things never happen to me, I never win anything, I always lose, I won’t get the job, etc. Replace them with I can, I do and I will words, or; I already have. Get rid of those negative thoughts and hold onto only positive thoughts. When the negatives try to creep into your life again, thank them for offering to help but send them away and tell them you no longer need them.

• Follow the same uncluttering process in your personal environment which can be your home, apartment, office; the space where you spend most of your time. Make sure the east area of your space is cleared so you can place an upward growing green plant to further energize your law of attraction. If you do not have a green thumb, use wonderful silk bamboo shoots or a silk plant or small upward reaching tree.

Action Plan - Step 2

Once you’ve made room for your law of attraction to work by getting rid of old thinking and stuff, energize it by creating a “Law of Attraction Board”. Obtain a bulletin board, one as large as you need depending on what you are trying to attract. Place onto this bulletin board pictures or symbolic things of what you are trying to attract. For example, if a new home is what you seek, place a picture there of the new home you want. If a loving relationship is what you want to attract, place pictures of what that relationship would look like for you. If you want a job with a specific company, place a picture of you as a new employee and a picture of the company together.

If you can’t find an appropriate picture draw one or paint one or create one on the computer. You can even use the words “I deserve” above what you are attracting. Words, thoughts and pictures are how you create the new energy that turns into your wants and desires. Just using the word peace will help you attract more peaceful surroundings. You can also use the words “I have received ____,” you fill in the blank. Another very good usage of words is “thank you for my _____.” Again, you can fill in the words or use your pictures to do so.

Our most powerful tools for attracting that which we want are our words, thoughts and mental pictures. If you can visualize it, think it and say it, you can attract it. It is that simple. Use this easy to apply Feng Shui Action Plan to attract a better life and so you can enjoy life more.

Are You Considering to Practice Mind Control?

Author: Roberto Bonomi

We have seen that nervous tension control will be only one of the multiple reasons, for which somebody can want to study mind control, but he could also do it to:
* Take off tension without taking any class of medications
* Sleep without taking pills for the insomnia
* Combat the undesirable habits (as smoking in excess, eat in undue form, drink in excess, etc.)
* Learn how not to fall asleep without medicines, coffee, tea or other exciting beverages
* Wake up by means of the self-control of the dream, without going trough the exciting effect of the alarm clock
* Relieve pains that weren't produced by stress
* Improve the relationships with our fellow men
* Pass easily an exam
* Get an employment
* Have success in our home business
* Solve our couple problems
* Improve our memory and concentration capacity
* Make more money
* Etc.

Our brain is certainly a strange organ, because in certain way, it works different from the rest of the organism.

Let us suppose that I want to take out the maximum profit of a muscle. What is it that I need to do?

To use it as much as I can, to make gymnastics and if it is possible with overweight; and in little time I will see how my muscular mass increases, and my strength together with it.

So the muscles work better the more they work, but the brain works better the more it is in its lower cycles. This that can sound strange it's easier to understand with an example.

Let us think of a student that has to give an exam. Let us suppose that he is an excellent student that studies all the points. He goes to the exam; but when he finds himself in front of the teachers, begins to get nervous in such a way that then suffers the total loss of his memory, and fails.

This student after a certain time lapse, when he begins to calm down, thinking in his exam says: "but what they requested me to draw is the same that we saw in last week that was this way, this way and this way. And that other question that they asked me... but if it was such and such a thing"; and then he realizes that he knew all and each one of the answers, to the same questions that before could not answer.

And if he knew the answers, why did he fail?

He failed because when he went to give his exam he abandoned his twenty habitual brain cycles, and stopped to work in centered and harmonious mental levels, passing to a blockade situation, caused by a higher brain level. This example allows us to see, that there are things that I can make very well at twenty brain cycles, but I cannot make or know when I have more cycles. In the same way, when my brain works at fourteen cycles, I will be better than at twenty and at ten better than at fourteen.

So, our brain works better, when lower are its cycles.

If we begin to analyze how's the human being; we can't avoid being surprised with the irony of knowing that: During our normal vigil state, we have twenty brain cycles; below twenty cycles and down to the fourteen, we grow drowsy or are only fairly awake, and below the fourteen cycles we fall asleep. And we enter in a deeper dream, the lower our cerebral cycles become.

But when we reach the fourteen brain cycles, that is to say when we are sleeping, it is when our inner force has its full strength. That is to say that when we have our maximum mind power, we cannot use it.

That's why when somebody is interested in learning mind control because of one of the reasons mentioned before, he has approached mind control attracted by its additional benefits, but is not considering the main benefit of it, that is the best use of our inner power. Or our capacity of subjective communication (subconscious to subconscious communication) that will let has handle easily our life, or maybe we should say would let us take from life what we expect from her.

When you learn how to enter consciously at the Alpha brain levels, for the first time in your life you'll have the possibility to have both minds (your conscious mind and your inner or subconscious mind) working jointly. In that moment, maybe for the first time in your life, you will be able to take the authentic control of your existence, and will be able to tell yourself: I want to go toward there and go exactly toward there, and not to leave walking in contrary sense, as many times happens, in spite of our best purposes. Coping With The Fear Of Loneliness

Sometime or another we will experience a time when we are alone. As a result, here is a short list of techniques that a person can use so that the fear of being alone does not become a major issue in their lives.

The first step is to find an activity that you enjoy and where you can meet a lot of people. For instance, joining a group activity such as a volleyball group, womens club, or making crafts can be a great way to meet people. Doing something that you like to do will make you happy and will increase your chances of making friends.

Spending time with animals can be a great source of companionship. Having a dog or cat can make us feel loved. If you do not own a dog or cat, then volunteer at the local animal shelter. Spending time with an animal or pet can help us to feel better and can be of good company to all of us whether we are alone or not.

Helping others through community service can be of some help. There are many people out there who could benefit from your time and talents. Helping others can give you a source of pride, help you feel better about yourself, and can provide long lasting friendships. Give it a try and you will be surprised.

Challenge your negative thinking with positive statements and realistic thinking. When encountering thoughts that make your lonely or depressed, challenge those thoughts by asking yourself questions that will maintain objectivity and common sense. For example, some people may think that if they are alone at the present time then they will always be alone. This is not true. Even if your alone today does not mean that you will be alone all the time. No one can predict the future with one hundred percent accuracy.

Being alone is not fun, but sometimes there are worse things. For instance, imagine that you are married or stuck in a relationship that you can not get out of and also makes you miserable. Not only do you have to live with this person, there is no way to get out of the relationship because of various financial or personal reasons. As a result, you are stuck living with someone that you cannot stand and makes you depressed every single day of your life. With this viewpoint, being alone does not sound that bad.

The important thing is to do something constructive. Sitting around and doing nothing will not make things any better whether it is dealing with the fear of being alone or something else. Go out and do something that you like to do. In addition, take it one day at a time and stay committed in trying to solve your problem. Author: Stanley Popovich

How to use aromatherapy

Essential oil is natural oil that consist of many and complex substance. Therefore, synthetic essential oil cannot substitute natural aromatique oil. Natural or pure essential oil is got from plans. To make a little of essential oil be necessaried a lot of plans. It is needed 5 ton of roses to make 5 kg rose oil. As the demand of essential oil is higher, big companies make synthetic essential oil. So, make sure that the essential oil you buy is nature. I recomend this store to buy a good aromatique oil.

This is the important thing when you use essential oil. Remember to dissolve essential with nabati oil. Please read very important before use it.

Essential oil can evaporate easily. Eventhough it can stay for a long time,  a bad storage can decrease the benefit. Heat and light be able to ruin the component in it. That's way we ought to put it in a dark bottle and be store in refrigerator.

Many way to use essential oil :

a ) Rub essential oil (must have been dissolved with nabati oil) at some location on your skin. If this is the first time you use it, after the first caress you have to wait 10-14 minutes before you use it again. Essential oil can be danger if you not avoid contact with eyes and ears. When you use several types of esential oil, use it separately. This gives time to your body to respon an increase the benefit of it.

b) Massage Oil

Essential oil for massage oil need to be diluted in pure base oil such as olive, almond or another vegetable oils. It's better if the bottle vegetable oils has 'unrefined' or 'cold pressed' label. If  isn't, it's certain to be highly refined product extracted by high presure, intense heat and possibly petroleum derived solvents. Don't use baby oil because it is amineral oil that derived from petrolum. For a full body massage you will need + 30ml oil.

CAUTION : maximum concentrate of essential oil is 3 %

FORMULA :

5 x   essential oil (drops) =  % x  base oil (ml)

e.g 1 drop lavender, blend percentage 0.5 %, How many ml is the base oil needed?

Answer : {5 x 1}ml = 0.5 x base oil
10 ml = base oil

So, we need 10 ml base oil for 1 drop lavender with blend percentage 0.5%

Easy Measures

Essential Oil (drop) Base Oil (ml) Blend Percentage (%)
1 10 0.5
1 5 1
2 5 2

c) Aromatic Bath

Use essential oil to stay submerged. Essential oil cannot dissolved with water therefor it must be diluted with vegetable oil such as sweet almond. The ideal temperature for the water is around 850 - 940 F

( 290 - 340 C ).

Epsom salts bath ( Magnesium Sulphat) plus essential oil are good for bath. The grins are coarse therefor it's more suitable for the bath. These can be used for relaxing during stress. Dilute epsom salth bath in a few pints of boiling water and 5-10 drops of essential oil to your bath ( 2000 dm3 of hot water). The aromatherapy massage oil can be massage onto the skin an hour or two after done epsom salt bath.

Don't do Epsom Salts Bath if you have high presure or a heart contdition. Elderly or very frail people should use 225gr of Epsom salt to start with, gradually increasing as the ath becomes better tolerated.

d) Inhalation

Inhalation can help relieve cold and flu symptoms, sinusitis, coughs, hay fever and other respitory ailments. Sprinkle a few drops of essential oil on the palm of hand, handkerchief or tissue then inhale it deeply.

Steam inhalation is a great dicongestant. Give 5-10 drops of essential oil into 500ml near-boiling water. Drape a towel over your hand and the bowl to form a 'tent'. Inhale it for about five minutes but no longer than ten.

e) Compresses

A compress is a useful way to trat mucular pain, sprains and bruises as wll as reducing pang and congestion in internal organs. There are two methods of compress, such as cold compress and hot compress.

Cold compress is used for recent injuries such as sprains, bruises, swelling and inflammation , headaches and fever. Hot compress Hot compress is used for old injuries, muscular pain, toothace, menstrual cramp, cystitis, boils and abscess. Make sure you have used the right compress of treating your pain.

To make a hot compress, add about 6 drops of essential oil into 500ml of hot water (as hot as you can comfortably bear). Place the fabric over the area to be treated, wring out the excess. Cover it with a piece of clingfilm, then lightly when it has as cool as the body temperature; renew at intervals as required.

To make the cold compress do it the same way as hot compress, but with very cold, preferably icy water.

Each compress should be applied for 2-3 minutes.

Impotant things to know about aromatherapy

Essential oil is a delicate aromatic liquid, often claimed to much more valuable than gold. As marvelous healing substance, essential oils have certain characteristic that need care and proper attention, or they can be harmful.

CARE

Essential oils evaporate readily in room temperature. They can also easily danaged by light or when exposed to oxygen in the air. Oxidation will alter the original structur of the oil and naturally deteriorate the aroma. That's why they are sold in dark glass bottles with perfectly tight cover.

Extreme temperature should be avoided. A dark place of 650 F or below is ideal enough to store them. You can also put the oils in a fridge, but not in freezer compartment.

WHERE TO BUY.

Always buy essential oils from specialist supplier, health shop or retail outlet specialing in natural remedies. Never obtain them from any beauty or parfumary shops.

with specialist supplier you can get lower price in a larger qualities. They also have wider range of selection. Essential oils specialist at retail outlet or healthy shop is usuallyhappy to give you advices as for what is the best and most suitable to your needs and preferance.

Don't easily tempted by cheaper price. Essential oils are natural aromatic substances with healing properties that can never be substituted by any synthetic ones.We amount of essential oils. Therefore it is only natural id they get very expensive in the hands of customer.

You may see a product labelled as "aromatherapy oil". It is usually a mixture about 2-3 percent of one or more essential oils in a carrier oil. Ready-mixed oils give less aroma and a limited shelf-life.

APPLICATION

1.A simple skin test is advisable especially if you have sensitive skin. Patch test is very reliable for allergy suffers. Mix one drop of essential oils to be tested in a teaspoonful of almond oil. Rub a little of the mixture at supersensitive spots such as behind the ears, the crook of the arm or the inside of your wrist. Leave uncoverd and unwashed for for 24 hours. No redness nor itching tell the oil is save for you. You can test several oils at the same time but at different spots. Keep record of each to be accurate.

Patch test need more time and patience. Mix one drop of essential oils in a teaspoonful of base oil. Rub a little of the mixture on the upper chest or forearm. Leave for 24-48 hours. If there is no reaction, apply a little more oil and replace the patch. Do the test daily for seven days. After the interval of 10-14 days, tet the skin once more using the same mixture, and a new waterproof patch. At this level, you will know the sensitiveity of your skin in 24 hours. Any reaction should stop you at all cost from using the oil.

It is important to know that continued exposure to the same essence for prolonged period may provoke sensitivity in anyone eventhough a patch test tells you have normal to lerance to the essence in question.

c. sensitive area such as face, neck
d. oils that are never used before
